Chilean distributor optimizes its picking process by 50% with invasWMS.

Imagine a distribution center where every order is managed with pencil and paper: that was the day-to-day operation of Asmodee Chile, a leading distributor of paints, board games, and collectible cards. After the success of its business and its consolidation in the Chilean and Hispanic American markets, the company began to face significant logistical challenges due to the use of traditional methods in its logistics operations.

To change this scenario, the company decided to implement invasWMS, and the results were evident from the very first moment. With this new inventory management system, they boosted their operational efficiency by 50% and even strengthened their decision to expand into new markets like Mexico and Central America.

The company began its operations in 2018 with a 200 m² warehouse. After a few years, they managed to establish their own distribution center, which now spans 3,000 m² and manages over 4,000 SKUs with a monthly volume of 500 orders.

Although their team was trained and ready to handle logistics tasks, frequent errors and a lack of real-time inventory visibility reduced the team’s operational efficiency. As a result, the company struggled to meet the growing demands from the sales team, and customer service levels were also impacted due to delays in order preparation and dispatch. Consequently, they recognized the need for a technological solution to improve efficiency and minimize errors. These were the main reasons the organization decided to implement a Warehouse Management System (WMS).

After evaluating various WMS options, the company chose Cerca Technology for their deep understanding of their pain points and personalized support at every stage of the process. With a transparent and approachable focus, they demonstrated exceptional commitment. Cerca Technology stood out by presenting a comprehensive proposal (in terms of cost, scope, and project timelines).

Mauricio Toro, Project Manager at Asmodee, noted, “The support from Cerca Technology was fantastic; having an expert consultant visit our facilities to thoroughly understand our challenges, including issues with our ERP, was invaluable. They guided us transparently, showing us what could be done and what was best to implement. This close and committed approach is what led us to choose them.”

The company handles a large number of clients, multiple platforms, and sales channels that require comprehensive coverage. Before implementing invasWMS, if a product was missing, it was considered lost, either because it had been moved or because there were only a few units left. With the implementation of invasWMS, the company has significantly improved in these areas, facilitating product replenishment and optimizing space usage on their shelves.

Valentina Neira, Inventory Manager and Project Sponsor, commented, “The software isn’t rocket science; you don’t need to know programming or pay for endless training courses. On the contrary, it’s user-friendly and easy to operate. Our team has been incredibly grateful from day one to have a tool that allows them to see their real efficiency and avoid headaches from not knowing the location of products. Now they work with greater motivation and are proactive; we function as a cohesive unit rather than a turbulent one. We are more than happy with the results we’ve achieved.”

The knowledge transfer methodology was very helpful, although the ease of use of invasWMS made the adaptation process quick and straightforward.

Doubling Response Speed: The order picking capacity increased from 18 to 37 per day.

Real-Time Inventory Visibility: There is now complete visibility of products in inventory, making management and tracking easier.

Error Reduction: The post-sales team improved accuracy in order handling.

From the Cerca Technology team, Mary Romero, Professional Services Manager for invasWMS, commented, “Our client’s team has shown great commitment and willingness, which allowed us to meet the implementation timeline. We deeply appreciate their dedication.”

With the WMS up and running, Asmodee Chile aims to further consolidate its operations, maximizing the benefits of the tool. In the long term, the company’s logistics and technology roadmap includes the implementation of a Transportation Management System (TMS). This will undoubtedly strengthen their market position and provide a competitive advantage.
