3PL operator in Ecuador accelerates its transformation toward Logistics 4.0 with Infor WMS.

When a logistics operation meets every control point with precision, it’s no coincidence.

It’s the result of a strategic decision backed by technology, planning, and a forward-looking vision.

That was the case for the storage line of Grupo Torres & Torres, which recently executed its first successful operational go-live from its distribution center in Guayaquil, using Infor WMS as its warehouse management system.

This implementation not only marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company, but also positions it as one of the logistics operators with the greatest adaptability and growth potential in the Ecuadorian market.

A necessary evolution for an expanding portfolio

With more than 37 years of experience in foreign trade, this logistics operator has positioned itself as a strategic partner in the international supply chain, offering comprehensive solutions in international shipments, customs brokerage, freight transport, warehousing, and stevedoring.

With the expansion into distribution services and secondary transport, the business began facing new improvement opportunities: enhancing operational visibility, tailoring services even more to each client’s specific needs, and strengthening responsiveness to align with an increasingly dynamic and demanding market.

At its distribution center in Guayaquil, the company manages operations for multiple retail clients, including brands that require daily deliveries to various points of sale. This activity level demands absolute inventory control, speed in execution, and operational flexibility to handle a wide variety of products, ranging from electronics to sacks, rolls, and drums.

To address these challenges with a long-term solution, the management of the storage and distribution service line opted for the implementation of Infor WMS — the leading warehouse management software for logistics companies with high complexity and growth projections.

Infor WMS as a competitive advantage

Implemented by Cerca Technology, Infor WMS brings advanced logistics management capabilities, including machine learning algorithms, generative AI (GenAI), real-time visibility, and specific tools for 3PL operators such as multi-account management and revenue forecasting per client.

This technology enables smart optimization of space and resources, early detection of operational deviations, and proactive management. It also allows the standardization of processes without sacrificing client customization, while improving daily planning and execution with features such as shift-start scripts and facility reviews.

“This project will allow us not only to optimize our current operations, but also to strengthen Grupo Torres & Torres’ ability to lead the transformation of the 3PL sector in Ecuador.”
Mayra Poveda, Corporate Implementation Leader

A new benchmark for the Ecuadorian logistics sector

The success of the first operational go-live with Infor WMS — carried out seamlessly and with 100% order fulfillment — validates not only the technological choice but also the company’s ability to lead the transformation of the 3PL sector in Ecuador.

These early wins quickly translated into results. In just three months, key indicators showed significant improvements that reflected the impact of the solution.

Perfect orders

The implementation of Infor WMS substantially boosted the perfect order rate (complete, accurate, and on-time deliveries). Before implementation, this KPI fluctuated between 87%–89%. In the first operational month with the new solution, it jumped to 96%, and by March 2025 it reached 98%.

Dispatch accuracy

Another measurable benefit was accuracy in delivered units, aligned with customer orders. Previously between 85% and 90%, this KPI increased to a sustained 98% from the second month after go-live.

“Today we have a technological foundation that enables us to deliver a much more robust level of service with a long-term vision. This directly impacts customer satisfaction and the reliability of our operations.”

An operation ready to scale

“Supporting logistics companies in their modernization process is part of our commitment to the development of the region’s logistics sector. It’s not just about implementing software — it’s about enabling sustainable competitive advantages.”
Paola Quiroga, Commercial Manager, Cerca Technology

The combination of logistics expertise, long-term vision, and world-class technology positions the company as a benchmark in evolution. This implementation is the first step toward a smarter, more connected operation, fully prepared to scale alongside its customers’ growth.
